First we determine two things: (1) the work is registered to you with the U.S. Copyright Office, and (2) the infringement occurred within the past 3 years. Then we take the rest of the facts. This does not open a CCB case.

Two questions that decide whether we continue

A CCB infringement filing generally needs a Copyright Office registration in the claimant's name, and civil copyright claims are generally limited to the last three years. This screen is a filter, not a legal opinion.
